"Young Resigns"
Rev. Tim Young has accepted a call to pastor the First Church of the Nazarene in Pasadena, Texas. He and I have been in much discussion about this decision. He is leaving with my full support for the will of God in his and Sue's lives, but with my clear desire that I wanted him to remain with us. More

SUPPORT MESSAGE FOR BEARDSTOWN
LIBERTY HISPANIC
You may know by now that Tomas Alvarez, pastor of our Liberty Hispanic Church in Beardstown, is moving to Colorado at the end of December. We will miss Tomas and Ruth and their family. More

 The Fabric Of Life
What is the meaning of life? What does we have to show for our time on earth? Why is it we never seem to have enough time, but God says there is a time for everything? What are we to make of a sovereign God, yet a world filled with injustice and suffering? These are just a few of the discoveries we will make as we look at a book long forgotten by God’s people: the book of Ecclesiastes.

This sermon series is not into clichés or easy answers,
but instead looks at our world with faith and yes, even hope.

Week #1: Vanity
Week #2: Time
Week #3: Injustice & Loneliness
Week #4: Wisdom & Wealth
Week #5: Poise
Week #6: Providence
Week #7: Uncertainty

About Relationship Resources
It is our privilege to provide for you free sermon and small group resources through Relationship Resources. We will provide on Tuesdays a weekly sermon manuscript, sermon insert sheet, powerpoint slides, and small group material for your use. We believe the greatest relationship anyone can experience is with God. We likewise believe everyone was created to live in this experience. It is our hope and desire to provide resources designed to help you help others experience Him.

Tim Crump, senior pastor of Decatur First Church of the Nazarene, will be the main contributor of the sermons you will receive. John Paulus, pastor of spiritual development for Decatur First, will create the small group material resources and occasionally will provide sermon resources. Dave Watson, a layperson at Decatur First, has given his expertise in creative design.

RECOMMENDED READING
Is your life as rich, meaningful, and enjoyable as you want it to be? Is there something missing an emptiness that gnaws away at your heart even in the midst of success and achievement?

In The Secret Blend, best-selling author Stan Toler tells a parable you ll identify with. It s the story of a man who discovers some surprising truths in a most unexpected place: a coffee shop. Fascinating insights about the dark, aromatic brew begin to hit home, and he gets a taste of the true definition of wealth and abundance. More

THANKSGIVING OFFERING Resources Now Available
While many churches use Faith Promise to raise the World Evangelism Fund, the Thanksgiving Offering is still an important part of the process. The Thanksgiving Offering is a natural time for giving with an attitude of thanks for God’s blessings. Even for churches that use Faith Promise, the Thanksgiving Offering provides an opportunity for givers to “catch up” on their commitments. For those who do not participate in Faith Promise, it is a way to give to the WEF offerings. More

STEWARDSHIP MONTH Resource Kit Just Released
Loving God, Loving Each Other, the latest version of the Stewardship Month Resource Kit, has been released, according to Dr. Steve Weber, Stewardship Ministries Director. This new resource follows the pattern of the previous kits (Cycle of Victorious Giving and Lordship Living) and includes four model sermons from Dr. Stan Toler, sermon handouts, PowerPoint slides, and lessons for adults, youth, and children. In addition, there is a video clip to coincide with each weekly theme. More

NEW TAX LAW WILL BENEFIT
Giving to Churches
Historic legislation opens up Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) as a source for charitable giving for certain individuals. This is very good news for Nazarene churches since they qualify to receive the IRA transfers. However, the window of opportunity is short. The law only applies to tax years 2006 and 2007 and donors need to be aware of this opportunity and know how to act on it. More
